Working on Novel

The past few days, I've been working on my novel manuscript about an encounter with Sasquatches. I'm happy with my progress. My work on the novel should speed up.

I've done little on marketing on novel: The Omak Lake Monster. I suppose it takes time to learn how to market a book.

Sasquatch Manuscript Proceeding

Yesterday I returned to working on my novel manuscript about two Sasquatches being hunted by outsiders on the Colville Indian Reservation. Last time I worked on it was back on June 1, 2005. I plan to have it finished by December, 2005. It will be a short novel.

The Island Movie

Today I saw the movie “The Island”, which starred: Ewan McGregor, Scarlett Johansson, Djimon Hounsou, Sean Bean and Steve Buscemi.

The storyline involved the following: “Lincoln Six-Echo (Ewan McGregor) and Jordan Two-Delta (Scarlett Johansson)--and with names like that, you've got to be somewhat suspicious--are among the hundreds of residents of a contained facility somewhere in the not-too-distant future. They are told that they are survivors of a global ecological disaster and therefore must live under a carefully controlled environment, with their day-to-day lives monitored to the nth degree, seemingly for their own good. The only way out is to be chosen to go to the Island, the last uncontaminated spot on earth, with the ''lucky'' few picked ''randomly'' from a lottery. Yeah, right. Lincoln is curious about it all. He wants to know why he's there, what's his purpose, and is the Island really all there is. And his dogged inquisitiveness eventually leads him to the awful truth: the Island is a cruel hoax, and he and his friend Jordan are in some deep doo-doo. See, they're actually clones, an insurance policy, as it were, who are more valuable dead than alive. So, they run. And run. And then really run. Just like Logan 5 and Jessica 6 did in Logan's Run, breaking through to the wondrous and dangerous world outside. Hot on their trail, however, are the powers that be. They obviously can't have their ''product'' running around willy-nilly. But Lincoln and Jordan want to live, dammit, and will stop at nothing to achieve their mission.”

I give the movie a “B+”, and the movie is worth the price of an admission ticket, a large popcorn and a medium soft drink. It was a good scifi movie, and I enjoyed the action scenes. The ending was a little weak.

Pro Temp Judging at Fort Mojave Tribal Court

Tomorrow I will be traveling to the Fort Mojave Indian Reservation to act as a Pro Temp Judge for the Fort Mojave Tribal Court. I'll be returning Wednesday night. I will be spending one night at the tribe's casino-resort, Avi.

Today I'm still unpacking and storing my household items. I'm feeling fine, though my lower back is still sore from all the lifting. There is no pain or discomfort.

“War of the Worlds” Movie

On Wednesday I saw the movie “War of the Worlds”, which starred: Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Dakota Fanning, Tim Robbins, Miranda Otto and Justin Chatwin.

The storyline involved the following: “Based on H.G. Wells' classic 1898 novel, this War is set in a contemporary world, where the threat of terrorism looms around every corner. But not even the brains at Homeland Security can prepare the human race for this kind of an attack. After a series of mysterious and powerful lightning storms strike all over the world, giant three-legged war machines, long buried beneath the earth, rise up and start incinerating everything--and everyone--in sight. Ray Ferrier (Tom Cruise), a divorced New Jersey dockworker, horrifyingly witnesses the first strike in this catastrophic alien invasion. He is suddenly faced with protecting his estranged children--teenager Robbie (Justin Chatwin) and young daughter Rachel (Dakota Fanning)--after they are left with him for the weekend. Traveling across the ravaged countryside, Ray takes them on a journey to reunite them with their mother, and gets caught up in a desperate tide of refugees, fleeing from a seemingly inexorable and merciless enemy. But are they really unstoppable? Ha! We'll see who has the last laugh, you nasty old susceptible aliens.”

I give the movie a “A”, and the movie is worth the price of an admission ticket, a large popcorn, a large soft drink and a small soft drink. I enjoy SciFi movie, especially alien invasion movies. Tim Robbins was great in his role.
