Monday-August 25, 2008

Above is a photograph of a dust storm coming into the Valley. Then came the rain.

Friday was not an extraordinary day. I did my usual routine of surfing the Internet, paying bills, drinking coffee, reading the newspaper at Whataburger, shopping at Fry's, watching TV and taking a short nap.

For meals I made a pot of ground turkey, egg noodles, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, fresh garlic, chili seasoning and mixed vegetables. It was breakfast and lunch. In the late afternoon I popped a bag of microwave popcorn, and then I went to Simpletons to watch NASCAR racing and a pre-season football game.

On Saturday after doing my usual agenda, a friend female and I went to the Tempe Moose Lodge. Then we went to the Mesa VFW, and afterwards I took her to her trailer home. I then went to Simpletons to finish night. Karaoke was the night’s entertainment, and the singers were good.

The monsoon rains and winds returned on Saturday night. I did rain hard.

On Sunday I was not feeling well, though I did manage to do my volunteer work on the Internet. For meals I cooked a pot of ground turkey, mixed vegetables, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, country noodles and chili seasoning. Later I ate two bowls of popcorn. I finished the night at Simpletons.
My sunflower looked like it was suffering from the heat. On Sunday it reached 108 degrees. I watered the sunflower plant and gave it some Miracle Grow. Hopefully it will recover.
